I vehemently oppose building transmission towers across the Rappahannock River bride - place them underground where they belong.

Please help us preserve the natural beauty of the mighty Rapphannock and the approaches to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula! With the logical and equitable solution of underwater cables in play and very acheivable, there need not be much debate. Thank you!

We recently purchased property on the Rappahannock River close to this area - I vehemently oppose the construction of these towers particularly since the public has not had an opportunity to weigh in on this matter. Underground options are available but more expensive but cost should not be an issue when the natural beauty of this area is at stake.

I oppose the Dominion Power line plans for the bridge over the Rappahanock River. Put them underwater.

Not much mention of the impact on the Bay and wildlife. Interesting there are a billion restrictions on everything in the Piedmont but this gets approved!

Erecting these towers will be a blight on our beautiful Northern Neck. What a terrible proposal by Dominion Power. They have had to had knowledge that this is truly ugly. Shame on Dominion Power and shame on each and every one of our community officials sanctioning this atrocity.

I have grown up on the South side of the Rappahannock River all my life, and these power lines would be a huge obstruction to boaters. They look bad, would harm the environment during building, and would completely degrade all waterfront property with a view of the beautiful White Stone Bridge.
Dominion Power can step back and realize that this is our home, and if they need to take care of business by allowing power to be transported across the river, they should think of a way to do so either underwater, or in a more efficient form. An example of a better plan could be attaching the towers to the existing bridge somehow with windmills on the same towers to take a step towards cleaner energy.

It goes without saying that all if not most of those signing this petition recognize the burden of the cost comparison between the towers and underwater transmission. Sometimes the easy route is not necessarily the best route. This is one of those times!

Shame on Dominion Power. Do the right thing and find a better alternative that respects this beautiful area. If these are built they will be an eyesore, a boating obstacle and a constant reminder to thousands of Virginia citizens and visitors about what you truly care about and hold to be precious. And a reminder to us as stockholders your double speak about caring about the environment. Shame! You know you can do better than this. Do the right thing!

If not under water, what about replacing the existing lines on the side of the bridge ??
