Protect the Rappahannock River oppose Dominion Power's new transmission line

Dominion Power is a big bully -- there are other options to be addressed regarding this problem other than ruining the incomparable beauty of our bridge. Utilize some of the BIG BUCKS y'all get every second of every day!!

The proposed towers would be bigger and closer together than what is there now. They would be a significant change, navigational obstruction, and ruin a pristine view of the gateway to the Rhappahannock River. This river is a national treasure, pristine, and unspoiled. This is an opportunity to preserve and protect an invaluable resource for tourism, our economy, and our future.

Sorry Dominion, these tower just won't do. Lets try again.

The fenders prevent sailboats from using the river which will be very harmful to the economy of both counties. Under water is the only good option.

No overhead lines!

I tend to agree, DOM could invest the same money in taking the civic lead by paying for a NEW bridge that can easily accommodate invisibly its cables, for a win-win novel resolution that will earn them major positive PR points. Well worth the investment in restoring public confidence in its integrity.

How, then, do we, the people of Virginia, make this point eminently clear as THE obviously best solution for us all?

NOTE: I had intended to recommend using the First Nation system of guaranteeing clear communication known as the TALKING STICK with a posted video on its use and it meaning with my comment, but do not know how to edit my first entry to include this.

Could we invite representative of Dominion Virginia Power--- for a pow wow of sorts--employing this system of communication in a public forum, streaming, on-line, open to ALL of the peoples of Virginia to dialogue on what truly and really matters to us all, as residents of the scenically-rich Commonwealth of Virginia, hosted by us, here on the historic Northern Neck, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Leedstown Resolves? Could garner national press coverage. Wonder if Senator Bernie Sanders would accept an personal invitation?

I am extremely disappointed with how Dominion Power has handled this. For a company so concerned about the community they serve, they should also be considerate of their customers. I'd happily pay an extra $0.03 a month to get the cable buried. Or, better yet, how about donate some of this money to fixing the bridge and then running the transmission lines over it?! That would serve two purposes, update the bridge and provide a less costly means for Dominion to run their power lines. I do not see the existing lines falling down in the next 10 years (as they have stood this long...a little maintenance could and would go a long way).

This will block Impede my view i have grown up enjoying since i was a little kid. It is bad enough i have to see the glow from Walmart all night long. Don't take away my view.

Please don't put power lines up that obstruct the view of this beautiful river.

My Riverfront property directly overlooks the Norris Bridge. These towers, if built, will have a disastrous economic and esthetic impact on this pristine and treasured view. Please do not ruin our River view forever. Bury the cables. Save the "Gateway to the Rappahannock".

I remember the feeling and the view since first "discovering" the Northern Neck back in 1976. The wide view to the Bay has never lost its appeal. There appears to be absolutely no reason to "muck it up" by placing towers all the way across when lines could be place underwater, as they are under the York River. Thank you.

There is a power line running under water across the Rappahannock from Warsaw to the small island I live on (Curley's Island) in Tappahannock. It does a great job!! Rarely an outage. Please consider doing the same by the bridge. These towers will forever ruin the view.

Do the right thing Dominion.... bury the lines!
