We the undersigned hereby strongly urge our elected representatives to purchase and protect the iconic POOLE PROPERTY for future generations to come.
At the Rio Grande OXBOW WETLANDS, the Poole Property must become a PUBLIC AMENITY, not a housing development.
Our Governor and other elected officials successfully allocated funds to PURCHASE it. Now, we urge officials to follow through NOW.
Our representatives MUST act now to complete its PERMANENT PURCHASE. They have a duty to invest in their promises to protect natural spaces that contribute to the outdoor economy and the wellness of every New Mexico resident.

We need to preserve this property as open space to maintain it for generations of neighboring urban dwellers as an escape to quiet and serene vistas.
Thank you legislators for your visionary support of natural and vibrant open spaces for education and well being for today and the future. This Wetland and others in NM are the very form of outdoor education that is critical for children & families together to learn of science and beauty. Together we are better.
The Poole property is a buffer between existing development and the San Antonio Oxbow. Houses at the edge of the Oxbow will kill it.
This Oxbow area is a wetland that is needed more now than ever. It is the voice of the people of ABQ stating that this area should be preserved and not developed. The people of ABQ will not benefit from the development and neither would the creatures that depend on this area. Money is not the only thing of value. Preserve the Oxbow!
Susie Poole was a very community-supportive lady who lent her property for use by many organizations especially for children and the performing arts. I'm sure she would have wanted her estate to be used as a public park for all of us to enjoy, rather than a site for luxury homes for the few. Diane Reuler
It's deeply offensive to me that we might sacrifice irreplaceable -- and as such priceless -- wetlands and natural habitat just to help some rich developer get rich selling fancy houses to more rich people.
It would be an offense to nature to destroy these treasured wetlands.

We must not sacrifice our cultural and natural heritage for a typical, unneeded upscale subdivision. This is extraordinarily rare and irreplaceable open space with breathtaking majestic views. No matter the asking price, it's worth the value!
