We must safeguard the public by ensuring that those instructors with specialist skills are acknowledged and those skills protected. One body can't do this, as seen in the massage field where the reputation of highly qualified and specialised practitioners has been tarnished by those with poor qualifications and skill sets. Don't let this happen to Pilates - it's too important a public service to damage.

I agree,The Pilates Method should not be controlled by any one association, group or individual.
I agree, we all should have choices. The only person it really belongs to is Mr Pilates himself.

With the greatest respect where you at the original studio yourself ? I know you were with Romana in her studio and as we know she had changed much of the work. So how can there be just "One" method as you learnt from a 1st Generation Instructor yourself ? I know you have much of the archival work that you protected for us all but how do we know what was taught unless you were there in person ?

I agree with you Amit on the need for change and the development of what has been created but there has not been full involvement with the Pilates industry for these changes and the "draconian" measures which have been suggested by the PTA without consultation with the industry, how can you say were shaped by the community ?

There is only one person who should have that level of control over the method and unfortunately Joseph Pilates is no longer with us.

Totalmente de acuerdo, El método pilates no debería estar controlado por ninguna asociación, grupo o persona. Si un instructor esta debidamente certificado es libre para desempeñar la actividad. Todo esto es un comercio!!!
