I have had a Gastric Bypass and have lost 221 lbs, my loose skin is considerable and I need help through OHIP to get this removed. Im happy with the weight loss, but my body contour is disgusting, I've had to go on Anti-depressants, I have back problems, my skin is hanging and it feels like its pulling everything done which is very uncomfortable not to mention the body issue's,.. Please Help Me..

I require a panniculectomy due to having bariatric surgery and losing over 80 lbs. For those of us that needed to lose weight, a little help from the government to improve other issues, chafing, rashes, itching/sores, would be most appreciative for our health and our minds.

I'm going to need surgery along with so many others who have had Gastric Bypass and if this limitation goes through then it would be detrimental to patients esteem we have gone through so much to improve our lives that to end it at..... You've lost the weight , now deal with saggy skin would not help our esteem or self worth. It's sad that they would even consider not to continue to help those of us who have started this journey of transformation to leave us still "hanging" !!!

Please do not put such a tight restriction on such an important procedure. When I needed something similar because of a problem with diastasis recti I went to a few local surgeons and none of them would touch me without cash. I had no choice as my tummy was protruding as if I were nine months pregnant and I had no time to waste. I will be paying off what was a necessity for my life for years to come. I pray they do not eliminate this for folks who live out of the immediate area.

I have lost over two hundred pounds and kept it off, I've been waiting to make sure my weight is at a set stable place where I'm comfortable, I have waited for the right time, I only hope my waiting is not going to be at a loss for me, my extra skin restricts me in most ways than one with movements or running, therefore making it very difficult to work out to the best of my ability in ways I truly enjoy too,in order to keep healthy and continuing on with this lifestyle change !...

Dr. Nandagopal is very respectful toward patients who have been successful with massive weightloss. He is one of a kind in Southern Ontario and we need him to be able to continue OHIP funded surgery at SGH.

i believe this surgery is very important to those of us who have struggled through this journey, and have gotten to the point where we have lost so much that this is just another step to a healthy outcome.

I believe the surgery is very important as there are many, infections, ulcers that will not heal. I suffer with this after loosing over 100 lbs. I am looking into having then surgery in the new year and hope that portion will be covered

For massive weight loss clients this is an essential part of the retention of wellness plan. It will cost our health care system less to provide this medical procedure then support the medical reprocussions of panni flat issues. Thank you.

I have DS surgery which was covered by OHIP back in 2007, I lost 145lbs and have the overhanging panni, and am subject to sores and back pain as a result. I haven't looked into getting the surgery because I could not afford it, but if it was covered I would be there in a flash. I believe it would improve my quality of life. I suffer depression and don't like to look in the mirror because of the overhanging skin, plus I would be able to wear the pants in the right size without being self conscious.
