Protect the Onondaga Lake Bald Eagles

Please protect the eagles. It would be such a loss to this area if they are disturbed.

Please we continue to take land away from to many of God creatures ,can it not stop here right now I surely pray it does

Humans continue 2 take & ruin land used by wildlife, so we can play. Must b the European in us, ie we took & ruined land (ONONDAGA Lake) fm the Native Americans. And the beat goes on.

please help protect the eagles. Let so many more enjoy their beauty and splendor !

An eagle Sanctuary would be a wonderful tourist attraction as well as a great opportunity to educate the public about how well Onondaga county has done in bringing back the lake.

I'm not sure that Syracuse realizes how fortunate they are to be blessed with SO MANY Bald Eagles in the off nest season. Please do NOT build the trail! Bald Eagles are notorious for being very skittish of humans and activity. They are very different from other raptors like Hawks and Ospreys. This is something we never saw 20-40 years ago. The Friends of Onondaga Lake have done wonderful work in restoring the area and having all of these Eagles is a wonderful gift for all of their amazing and tireless efforts!

Please do not disrupt the Eagles. Maybe the Department of Environmental Conservation should be contacted as there might be a law about disrupting an Eagles established nesting area.

Disturbing the Murphy’s Island roosting area would be completely irresponsible at this point, after seeing how many eagles are utilizing it for their wintering home. If the trees disappear, the eagles won’t be able to roost there in the winter and that would be a shame.

Please reconsider the most recent plan to place a bike path on Murphy's Island and go back to the original agreement to placing the path at a further distance from where the Bald Eagles roost. The idea of making MI an Eagle Sanctuary is innovative and financially responsible. Birders and Bird Photographers spend much money on their interests in the way of travel, gear purchases and lodging. This could be another "draw" to the Syracuse area which would benefit many.

Allow the trail but keep it away from the eagles. Conservation is the wise use of our natural resources.

Please dont disrupt the bald eagles roosting area!!!!!!

We should be celebrating and protecting these national treasures instead of building another trail. The construction noise and increased human foot traffic will surely push these bald eagles away and the beautiful site of eagles flying around the lake will vanish. DO NOT BUILD THE LOOP THE LAKE TRAIL ON MURPHY'S ISLAND!

Please find another way so the eagles will be safe here.

I urge Onondaga County to make Murphy's Island a Bald Eagle Sanctuary. That would be a great asset to our community!

Having the extraordinary return of Bald Eagles to a lake previously the most polluted in the nation, it would be both a tragedy and a travesty to then take steps that would endanger their peaceful life on the shores of Onondaga Lake. I believe I speak as a practical environmentalist of simple common sense protection for the bird that serves as the symbol of our great nation. Wouldn't 90% of the trail being constructed in the most aesthetic possible location for humans be enough to allow 10% to optimize the surroundings for our national treasure?

Keep this wonderful part of Syracuse alive.

The bald Eagles are too great a resource to to damage. The public should have the right to see them up close !!

The construction of a trail that will encourage disturbance of eagles makes no sense and is certainly not needed. There are alternative routes that are better suited for the public.
