Please preserve this area so that we will maintain the roosting area used by our threatened Bald Eagles. Thank you.

100% agree with Onondaga Audubon. The. creation of a viewing area and listing as an Important Bird Area would be beneficial to even more than the birds. And, there is a viable trail alternative. Let’s not screw up Onondaga Lake again folks.

We need the Eagle Sanctuary to protect the eagles. Please do not disturb these birds. This can be a tour from a distance where travelers and local residents can appreciate the natural wildlife.

Thank you for standing up for the eagles. This trail is also impermeable surface, which contributes to runoff and lake pollution.

This is a no-brainer...the county would profit much more from an Eagle Sanctuary that would draw tourist revenue than a trail that is hazardous to humans and would be to the eagles as well. Legislators, do the right thing and protect these amazing birds of prey.

No reason to put a trail on Murphy's Island. Should be made a human free eagle/wildlife refuge

Please do not do anything put our local eagle population at risk from potential disrespectful visitors. We're lucky to have them so close. Lets not ruin that.

This trail is a dead-end spur trail and is not needed to complete the Loop the Lake trail. I have seen the report of the contaminant testing on Murphy's Island (a former industrial waste dump) and I would NEVER set foot there - an asphalt path is NOT remediation and would not provide adequate protection for people on the trail. A recreation trail here is ludicrous. Leave Murphy's Island alone as an eagle sanctuary.
