Please do not put the trail where it will interfere with the Eagles who use Murphy's Island year round. Let's protect these majestic birds, the symbol of our country!

This is such a cool place to have in Onondaga County : let’s leave it alone and not develop it

Mr. Mayor and Mr. McMahon please listen to the experts, they know what they are talking about. Create the Eagle Sanctuary for the American Bald Eagle. They deserve to live in peace. Take some time and go watch your National Bird fly majestically over your city. Be inspired by their freedom!

They could become a wonderful attraction to the area.

So if the eagles decide to migrate to Green Lake or the amphitheater we will also shut them down??

Thr right thing would be returning the land to the Onondaga people. At any rate, there should be no trails or other disturbances there.

The eagles are a valuable natural resource and deserve to be protected. Whereas the walking/bike trail can be put in a different place, if we disturb the eagles, *they* will likely end up in a different place - not here where we can enjoy them and learn from them. Please - don't ruin a great thing just to do an ordinary thing!

I cannot imagine voting for anyone who would not want to do everything possible to create a sanctuary for the bald eagle. There are hundreds (thousnds probably) of places in Onondga County where you can walk or bike. There are only TWO metropolitan area in the entire country where you can see these magnificent birds in such numbers. I don't know why there is even a discussion.

My family and I recently moved out of NY. It was amazing watching these eagles when they came around. Leave their nesting grounds alone.

I feel making Murphy's Island an eagle sanctuary would be a valuable asset to our community. It would provide a great protected place for the eagles, but if we could also make the "Lake Lounge" a nice inviting viewing area , it would be a valuable educational chance that we should not pass up for the next generation to come. It would bring many people to our area to see the eagles in a safe, responsible way for both humans and birds . And while the visitors are here enjoying the eagles, they will also add to our economy by shopping and eating and checking out what Syracuse has to offer. I feel it benefits both humans and wildlife.

To have the opportunity to be only 1 of 2 places in the country to be home to these majestic birds is an honor that should not be taken lightly. Trails can be moved and should be to protect this incredible occurrence.

Save and protect one of America’s natural treasures. Let these magnificent birds fly.

Those of us who love the outdoors, and wildlife, would prefer that you protect this space for Bald Eagles and create a path away from Murphy’s Island for us to walk on and enjoy. This is a no brainer.
