We do not need another place for people to walk in this area. There are many parks in the area to do this. As a member of the Onondaga Audubon I strongly oppose this trail. We need to keep the eagles and other birds of prey secure and safe. This is an needless expense to our County that we do not need or want. Thank you

We need to protect the Eagles. We do not need another trail that will endanger the eagles. We should be protecting them and be proud that we have them roosting in our city of Syracuse.

Onondaga county has already needlessly destroyed other wildlife and bird habitat at the lake. Paving the amp parking lot was incredibly environmentally insensitive and ruined important stopover habitat for migrating shorebirds as well as for wintering snowy owls, including watchlist species. Cutting a 50foot wide swath through the only remaining wood thrush breeding habitat to make a trail that could have been routed elsewhere has helped Onondaga county politicians to do their part to contribute to the decline of that common bird in steep decline. There are too many decisions being made out of ignorance. Let's not do it to the bald eagles. I votet in ALL elections and this matters a great deal in my choice of candidates. I would like very much for the DEC to reign in the poor decisions our officials are making in the name of their personal resume rather than for the good of environment.

It is almost miraculous to see Bald Eagles return to the once putrid shores of Onondaga Lake. We need to encourage their return - and that means protecting their roost. We must limit foot traffic near Murphy's Island in order to ensure they are not permanently disturbed and forced to relocate - somewhere far away from this mythic, reborn body of water. As a symbol of hope during these dark environmental times, we look to the continued presence of eagles at Murphy's Island as a bright spot and a symbol of what a positive environmental future can look like. Please do NOT allow foot trails near Murphy's island. Alternatives are possible. Thank you.

It is amazing and wonderful that the American Bald Eagle is able to live in our community and thrive. Please do all possible for the majestic birds to continue their lives here in Syracuse.

Protecting these eagles is far more important than any human plans for development, even rails for walkers or bikers.

Please build this trail as far away as possible from the Eagles. It is not necessary to disturb them, and we can all enjoy them from a distance.

As a former Syracuse resident, I absolutely believe these birds and their nesting area should be protected. A bike trail is not so important that it should disrupt the eagles.
