I am a frequent user of Jefferson County International Airport. And steps needs to be taken to ensure that a handful of developers and home owners cannot attempt to shut down an airport that has been in place for many decades.

This aerofield is a vital component in relation to Jefferson County infrastructure. Developers must be required to fully disclose details regarding airport proximity and potential perceived impacts to nearby new developments from normal airport operations. Additionally, further major modifications to normal airport operations and procedures should not be considered during this process. That's simply a "slippery slope" leading to limiting ops and eventual closure.

This is to let the future homeowners know, the airport came before the houses and us pilots warned them beforehand!

I support this petition, but Jefferson County did implement a buffer around the airport and any development within that boundary requires full disclosure about impacts from the airport. Unfortunately, that boundary ends before the new development begins. This is codified in Jefferson County Codes 18.15.410 - 18.15.430. What we really need is an expansion of the current Airport Overlay #1

The proposed housing development WILL receive excessive aircraft noise and anyone who builds or buys a home there MUST be informed, so they cannot get angry and try to shut down operations that were occurring long before they decided to move 2 miles from the approach end of the runway.

The airport needs to be protected with responsible management. This is an effective way to do it, by requiring property owners within the airport area to accept the implications of having property nearby.

I fly in and out of Jefferson County Airport. Any new development needs full disclosure the airport is nearby and that the traffic will cause noise. The airport was there first.

Buyers need to be informed of the presence of the airport and acknowledge their awareness of its presence. The proximity of the airport must be an acceptable condition to the purchase.
