Every Maori I know is opposed to deep sea drilling in the Te Reinga Basin. It is our most sacred place and I opposed this with all my being. Leave all of our waters alone.

We strongly object and oppose anything and everything that happens on and around Te Rerenga Wairua as this is the most scared place in the world to all of Maoridom. We strongly object and oppose to our spiritual areas being subjected to the activity of Deep Sea Drilling and Exploration.

Te Reinga is known historically and Nationally including Internationally as being a place of great importance and holds spiritual connection to Maori as Te Ara Wairua - A Spiritual Pathway which is Ancestral and Immemorial. We object & oppose also on the grounds of concerns of detrimental affect and effect for and on the Environment both below and above the sea. We object & oppose also on the grounds of concerns of detrimental affect and effect for and on all living species both below and above the sea.
