Vaccination is the only sensible and humane way forward. 25 years of killing badgers is not the answer to bTB.

First the government admitted that its estimates of badger numbers was over estimated, then we learn that the numbers of herds infected with bTB has been 'incorrectly' overestimated. In percentage terms the numbers of cattle slaughtered due to bTB is actually miniscule. This cull has been nothing more that a huge sledgehammer to crack a tiny nut. Vaccination is the only way. After all we have all but eradicated TB in humans through vaccination.

There has never been a scientifically proven benefit to culling. Now we see inaccurate figures emerging and costs spiralling. It is time to stop this ridiculous waste of wildlife.
