Pulling statues etc down is similar to Hitler burning books in an effort to change history. Surely it would be better to educate people about our past so these kind of things will not be able to happen again. We cannot change what happened, let's prepare for the future.

History is complex. Even slavery has a complex history, but it has to be remembered. Modern racism has to be stopped, but that won't be achieved by ignoring racism in all continents and in all civilisations
