Protect St Giles Green Belt

I do not think we require development of this scale

the houses on the allotment in Townfield lane were supposed to be affordable housing for locals but never were and what happened to the extension of the doctors surgery

This cannot be allowed to happen - it goes against all the principles of green belt land being protected from development

Everyone must object most strongly at the Public Consultation tomorrow (27 Sept) drop in between 3-8 pm at Memorial Hall. This can be halted with your help.

The neighbourhood plan deals with new housing requirements. This land needs to be protected

Any proposal contrary to the Local Plan must not be entertained. This proposal would not be in any way beneficial to the community, it would only enrich the developer.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the proposed development as it would destroy our precious green belt land which is supposed to be protected from such developments. In addition the increased number of residents will change our village life for ever and would put further pressure on the village surgery where it is already increasingly difficult to obtain an appointment within a reasonable time frame. Further school and nursery places would also be needed to meet demand. It is especially hard to imagine the increased number of cars accessing the village and the site via the proposed roads which are not at all suitable for an increased number of vehicles.

I am in agreement with all the points already clearly articulated by others. In particular, the village amenities are already at full capacity. The infrastructure is not there to support such developments not to mention the destruction of greenbelt land.

I object to these proposals

The greenbelt is sacrosanct and should be protected at all costs.

Keep the green belt! It’s important!

I understand the need for more housing but not to the extent of 90 units on green belt.

Such a development is unwanted in a village that is already stretched with infrastructure, school places, and doctors to name but a few.

The proposed development is beyond the northern periphery of the village, well away from amenities. Public transport links to Chalfont St Giles are exceptionally poor and nonexistent in this section of the village. No safe provision for cyclists wishing to commute. Limited employment opportunities in the village meaning that transport by car is the only option. Increase in the volume of traffic both on residential roads and the A413 Proposed site is on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty. Loss of natural habitat and countryside amenity. Local schools and GP services in the immediate area are already at capacity. This is likely to set precedent for future development of green belt around village. For the reasons outlined above I would consider this to be a particularly poorly conceived development proposal and really cannot imagine a worse place to place housing. Hiding behind a social housing banner is essentially an attempt to hoodwink the local community and planning authority

The local plan exists precisely to prevent this kind of salami slicing of the green belt. It only works if developers are kept strictly within the boundaries it sets.

Preserve our Greenbelt and village

Until there is a viable transport infrastructure in the village, develooment of this nature cannot be justified

The Traffic is bad enough already in the village. It is hard to get GP appointments now with more people in the area it will be impossible. There will not be enough school places for any children just some of the problems that would arise with such a big development
