Please don't allow badgers to be killed when there is no good scientific evidence to suggest that this will reduce bovine TB. Vaccination allows us to keep out wildlife and stop TB. It is essential that diversity and wildlife are not sacrificed in the name of monoculture farming. It will be the downfall of us all.

It is my firm belief if West Country farmers kept their cattle in better more sanitary conditions as for e.g. they do in Germany, the incidence of Tb would drop considerably. Badger culling is a nonsensical ante-deluvian quick-fix with no proven scientific value

Wales has shown a near-50% reduction in new TB cases in the last 5 years with stringent cattle controls; there has been no killing of badgers. This must surely be the right way to proceed.

Vaccination & improved biosecurity are the way to deal with BTB - not cruel and ineffective culling.

The pilot culls of Badgers have been ineffective and inhumanely cruel. We need to promote a humane alternative, such as badger vaccination, rather than shooting badgers.

This cull is wicked and pointless - it is Bovine TB. Tell farmers to clean up their farms and control cattle movements, not scapegoat badgers. Culled badgers were not even checked to see if they had the disease. We all know why that was.

All the scientific based evidence gathered over a number of years show culling is not an affective means of controlling bTB, in fact some evidence shows it increases.
Surely as a highly educated nation which manufactures and exports highly sophisticated products, we should be basing our actions on scientific evidence, not emotional reactions.
Follow the Welsh governments example and vaccinate.

The pilot badger cull failed to meet the criteria set, i.e. humaneness, effectiveness and safety.

The pilot badger cull was a fiasco, the method used was cruel, causing immense suffering to many animals and there is no evidence to suggest that it will do anything to resolve the issue of TB in cattle.

Vaccinate all your Badgers please. They have spent money making it so for pity sake use it for what it was intended. Totally possible to take Badgers out of the bTB circle if you give it the chance it deserves & Badgers deserve. The flooding will take it's toll on numbers, you need to please protect our Badgers now not exterminate even more. Thank you.

This so-called 'cull' of badgers is based on erroneous information, and is against all environment protection laws.

Most animal behaviourists, naturalists, scientists, and veterinarians say the way forward is vaccination of cattle and badgers. Please say no to this hated government cull.
