School's are supposed to be a safe place...so let's take control of it before we lose it all together

Yes ,please use the metal detectors if they are there. Why would they not be used if it was paid for and place in the school for a purpose.

Please make SHS safer, I worry about my child's safety when he is there.

All of the schools should be using metal detectors. I have a child in St. James and my child tells me they rarely use the metal detectors and when they do they don't check everyone. They pick random students as they're walking in. Also, he tells me that they take them down at 8:15 so if a student wanted to bring something into school they know to wait until after 8:15 to walk in. This is very scary. I totally agree that metal detectors should be in use all the time and all day long to any person walking in the door, no exceptions. I wish St. James would get more serious about protecting our children and teachers.

I agree that all students should be checked to insure our kids are protected.

Please start using them now. Why are they not being used?

Too many children have been hurt or killed in our schools already,

There is no excuse for what happened last week.

Unfortunately students are easily able to bypass the detector when bringing in a weapon by having another student let them in a side door ! Front door metal detector helps, but isn’t the only safety measure that needs to be used!

In these times, our kids need protection.
