Sears Island is a benefit to carbon sequestration, the environment and recreation. It attracts visitors, human and avian, from around the world and around town. Mack Point should be used.

As a resident of Searsport I visit Sears Island at least three days a week to enjoy the serene beauty and connect with other community members. It is well loved and utilized for recreation and therefore does not make sense as a site for intensive development.

It is not "green" to kill off carbon sequestering forests. The sea is rising and the windmill project is not sustainable. No federal funding needed here. We waited too late to find green solutions.

I support off shore wind - build on Mack Point instead of Sears's Island. Is the ultimate goal to open up Sear's Island to further industrialization? Because building on Sear's Island is completely antithetical to wisely combatting Climate Change.

What a shame if we lose this beautiful island

Tens if not hundreds of people visit Sears Island daily. There are ALWAYS cars parked on the causeway and many visitors remember it as a highlight of their vacation. It is biodiverse, rich in history, and one of a kind.

It is short sighted to destroy an untouched beautiful island when there are other alternatives. Sears Island is enjoyed by many local people as well as visitors to Maine. It is a wonderful place for families who do not have the means to take trips farther afield to enjoy that which makes Maine special.

Nature flourishes at Sears Island. Countless people enjoy the island. Building a wind port would greatly damage the ecosystem. Any wind port in Searsport should be constructed at Mack Point.

Mack Point makes the MOST ENVIRONMENTAL SENSE for this OSW. Sears Island needs to be deemed a National Monument!!!!!!

Developing Sear's Island in the name of climate progress is the quintessential metaphor of missing the forest through the trees.

As habitats around the world are being destroyed or compromised, it's our obligation to protect what we have especially when there is a viable alternative on Mack Point.

The obvious choice is Mack Point. The fiscal choice is Mack Point. Why is the Governor aggressively pursuing her proposal when there is a better option that isn’t undoing environmental work?

As VP of Preserve Rural Maine, I urge the state to preserve Sears Island for future generations and site the wind port where it belongs, on the already-industrialized Mack Point.

Sears Island must be protected! Mac Point is already developed and should be used.
