The proposal by Sprague Energy for redeveloping an abandoned industrial site is the obvious choice, rather than destroying 100 acres of untouched, preserved freshwater ecology.

I first want to protect sears island from unnecessary development. I also want to support Mack point as a best option site and applaud Maine's efforts to save our planet by making the best decisions without sacrificing existing natural environments that are irreplaceable. We need clean energy. We can move forward while keeping sears Island as it is, a unique and valuable ecosystem that should not be disturbed.

Requesting no federal funding for an Off Shore Wind port on Sears Island, Searsport, Maine. I live in Belfast, Me and want Sears Island to be protected from development for environmental reasons and access to people to enjoy the land and ocean.

As a retired lobsterman, a former member of Maine's Ocean Acidification Commission, as well as one who worked on the regional ocean planning process in the northeast, I recognize the importance of properly siting of these major projects. Why a pristine uninhabited island when there is an industrial site waiting to be used right next door?

Destroying a fragile, primarily intact ecosystem under the pretense of addressing climate disruption and providing renewable energy is untenable.

Come on DOT there's a friggin port right there on Mack Point! It already smells like oil here and there's a chemical plant on the other side of the island. Stop this nonsense! Sprague offered to take the port there. Why does Mills bow to industry and not the voters? Which party will stand up for the people? If this is a "Democratic" Governor we're screwed. The children of Maine will not forget this. I have to tell my son the truth....The place he grew up clamming and hiking is being industrialized by the DOT. Between this and the electric corridor it looks like "Maine" is once again for sale. Stop bullying these industrial projects that yield little to no permanent jobs. I guess we haven't come to far since this place was stolen from the Wabanaki and Acadians.

There is a less environmentaly damaging practicable alternative available to DOT than the destruction of valuable wetlands and waters at Sears island. The site should be moved to Portland where no impacts to waters and wetlands will occur and where existing infrastructure already exist to support a deep water port. In addition the blasting of bedrock will have unforeseen consequences as all surrounding communities will feel the shock waves required to dredge the port. We all have bedrock under our homes!!
