Let me get this straight! The so-called "leaders" of Salem tried to HIDE what they were trying to do!??! Because they KNEW nobody in Salem would vote to get rid of, or relocate our Farmers' Market!?! I'm going to vote against every last one of you at or next election!

Need more hometown values and less profit driven, when there are quite a few other areas of SALEM that could use rejuvenation.

Our family frequents the market and we love walking through daily. We love the Christmas tree lighting here and love that it's a safe place for all to gather and be a community.

I can't believe that the "Farmers Market" is being considered as one of the changes downtown. Our city government is ruining our beloved city. People need to voice their opinions!!!! SAVE OUR CITY!!!!! This is becoming a huge mess. So Sad!!!!!

The farmers market has been there since i was a kid living on market st. It is the last place in town to get that" down home" feel buying produce and brings revenue by holding events such as fri after 5

I think that the Salem Farmers Market should stay. I mean adding a hotel in the middle of lil old Salem. It completely ruins the Salem style. Salem has ol building and it a cute town. So building a huge modern hotel in the middle of that ruins it. If they built the hotel looking older then maybe it would work.

Save our Open Air Market! Enough traffic downtown without a hotel! Build one closer to I-81

By closing the open air farmers market you loose the ability to have Salem Afer 5 and other festival events in the lot area. As well as the beautiful traditional Christmas Tree Lighting. The focus should be on how to make our Open Air Farmers Market unique to attract Salem Residents and Tourism. Not to make it look like every other building in the downtown area!

Please stop trying to give Salem a big-city feel. In the downtown area, we need to strive to keep the older look to the buildings, as they contribute to the hometown feel of Salem. The Farmer's Market is a landmark in Salem and needs to be left alone for the citizens to enjoy.
