Born in raised in Salem and having lived here all my life, the Farmers Market is basically a staple of our downtown. Our historic small town feel wouldn't be complete without this important piece to our community. Could it maybe use some small additions? Sure. But this is a part of what makes our town what it is. We have a place centrally located to hold special events, showcase local produce, etc. Heading to the coffee shop and making my rounds at the market every weekend is part of what I look forward to at the end of a long work week. It's the simple things in life! We don't need to try and be "little Roanoke." Being Salem is what differentiates us from other locales.
