Please save our community hometown farmer's market. Salem has many locations that would be more appropriate for a hotel! The old K-Mark would be perfect!! I lived on Broad St. for forty years and the market was a huge part of our family life. It's the quaint beautiful neighborhoods, the Farmer's Market, and the duck pond, that makes Salem the unique community that make us all neighbors.

Are you people completely out of your minds. This needs a ton of people to show support at the market one day.

We love the Market! Please consider lots of other options before you fill in our open market area. I really like the idea of opening it up to City Hall and using that park-like area as a gathering space :) Ellen Holtman

I now live in Richmond, and want to keep my hometown businesses alive. I worked at Brooks Byrd Pharmacy while at high school in the sixties, and would like the landscape of Salem to remain stable.

Our market is so special and serves so many purposes, mainly bringing fresh, LOCAL produce and foods to us. It is an institution and historic landmark in our wonderful city and would be a tragedy and devastating to destroy it. We don't need any more apartments. or a ridiculous parking garage. Shame on you for your sneaky, underhanded meetings. This is really beneath the dignity and standards of our leaders. I'm 60 yrs. old and have been in Salem most of my life from birth and this is the first time I've been ashamed, the ole green eyed monster of greed has certainly clouded someones judgement.

Good morning, what a terrible thing that our city leaders have done. Selling out to the almighty dollar. They should be ashamed of themselves. Salem has a rich history and the Farmers Market is one of them. Our "leaders" are getting greedy -- it's time we start looking to NOT reelect the leadership we have now. What a joke. It's time we look to future leaders to preserve our city, not make it into a metropolis. Greedy greedy bastards. This definitely tarnishes their reputation.

Keep the farmer's market open! These type markets bring good, local produce to the citizens and are a boon to our local farmers. Why tbe heck would you even think about closing it for a nanosecond????
