There is a kettle corn vendor there this summer (smile), and why does your signature say Lynchburg when you are from N Broad Street, Salem?

I live in Salem, and love the farmers market, it is part of the charm, like the beautiful store front of Countryside Classics.. which is now ugly aluminium siding!

Changing downtown Salem is a sure fire way to lose the charm of the historic district.

Taking away the farmers market is taking fresh food away from salem residents and from the mouths of the growers and vendors that rely on the income generated there! To close it is a crime against the city.

I do not currently live in Salem but have family friends and work there I shop there for the fresh produce.. and go to events such as Salem after 5, pumpkin festival, the old Salem day's,and the Christmas tree lighting and parade every year...it's been a tradition ever since I was little and I'm 27 with a family of my own who I have been taking there since my wife and daughter have came into my life. I still go there with my mother and grandmother both who have been life long residents of Salem va...and to see or even think of the fact of moving or totally eliminating this history would be a in my own opinion a death to the city and what it's known for....it's bad enough that the city is losing the NCAA tournaments like stagg bowl, the soft ball championship.....eat....what's next are there plans to close the duck pond,or long wood park.........
