This space needs to be left open-air. As a land locked city, Salem does have developmental challenges, but that requires creative thinking not just simply developing any and all open space. We need this to remain in our downtown. Revamp it, yes. Build over it, no.

The Farmer's Market should not be developed, period. Anyone supporting development are only looking for personal gain and do not have the best interest of Salem in mind.

Pls save ours farmer market. No hotel or parking garage. Why ruin the charms and characters our downtown have to offer and block the view of our surrounding mountains and Roanoke college and downtown beauty! Thanks

That location has been the Farmers Market since I can remember. I think it would be a shame to build and move to another location. We will lose vendors because of it.

Leave Salems Farmers Mkt alone Let Rke College build housing for parents, etc. Why should Salem provide this?

Please save the farmers market. This is a community gathering spot that holds tradition. At Christmas it's our tree lighting ceremony, Friday's at 5 during the summer months. This is a place for gatherings and community. Save the farmers market.

I am not a resident as we live in Roanoke. We are very regular shoppers at the Salem market and also shop at other Salem businesses. You have a gem here.Longwood and the beautiful Lakespring park are two more of my favorite places.Salem you have been smart a long time.Don't mess it up now. Also as a person with disabilities I can still rest on a bench at your market-not in Roanoke though.

There are 2 empty Hotels just off Exit 137 no need for a Hotel in a quaint little area as Downtown Salem! I am all for building up the area but a Hotel will not be the answer and will be an eye sore! If it's necessary for Roanoke College put it down closer to the College and let it sit there empty! Downtown Salem is an Historic part of the Roanoke Valley. Daleville even jumped on the bandwagon with a place for gatherings, music etc. I have no idea who thought of this but it's a terrible suggestion! Our taxes are extremely high now, do we need a reason for them to be raised? That would be NO! SAVE OUR MARKET AREA
