The abuse of parking around this area has been rife for many years and getting worse. Companies thinking they own the space, dangerous parking and dangerous driving meaning it’s impossible to see around big lorries on corners and company drivers forcing residents to reverse or wait for them to finish their ‘important business’. No spaces available for people visiting the medical centre. Residents must be put first.

The overwhelming size of lorries and large vans parked on the street, and often on the kerb, reduces pedestrian space.
Chatfield road and Gartons way are parking places for commercial vans and lorries overnight, and this bulk reduces the useability of the roadway and residents' space overnight and at weekends.
On my motorcycle, and particularly on bends, but also on Gartons and Chatfield, I have had many near misses with cars that speed with poor visibility for them, and massively heightened awareness from me. The most recent near-miss was on thursday when a car speeding round the bend of Gartons/Chatfield narrowly missed me where his visibility was severely reduced by the large vehicles/vans parked on the curve. There is as much of a problem with vans from the adjacent commercial space parking their vans on the street rather than on their own commercial land

Parking of light commercial vehicles on all roads around here, particularly Chatfield and Mendip Rds, make passing extremely difficult and severely reduces vision to a dangerous extent at corners.

This would alleviate a long-standing problem for us regarding visitor parking

People living down this street should be able to have guests.

Parking is also taken from residents on Gwynn, Yelverton and Holman Road and these roads should be considered also.

I feel very unsafe walking home from school along the streets where these trucks are always parked

These trucks parked along our streets make the area look ugly

This causes a safety issue as these vans are blocking clear view in a rather small and curvy stretch of the road, making it unsafe to cross the road

The drivers of the big trucks parked in the area around Plantation Wharf often cause obstruction at the end of the day when they change cars and park their trucks for the night. I also believe that these parking spaces should be available for residents and their visitors and not for companies who don’t have their offices here. The trucks also create a sense of unsafety as they obstruct clear views of the pavement. Being female I don’t like walking here late at night.
