in an ideal world there'd be free swimming lessons for all kids. However, it's not, and there has to be a place for private swimming lessons too, for various reasons. flexible times,one to one teacher attention,please don't stand in the way of private lessons.

my children benefit massively from the dedicated service provided by these private teachers and we pay into the leisure centre also.

Shame. I have heard very good reports about ripples tutor, and hoped to send my daughter in September when she turns 4.

This decision will negatively impact children. For a variety of reasons, some children will benefit from private lessons. These children should be allowed to continue to benefit from this service which the Council don't provide.

Again as 2 working parents we are having our rights to choose for our children put in jeopardy. Why make it so difficult for people. My husband and I both work and choose private lessons because all the leisure centre ones are fully booked and choosing a night with our private instructor enables us to enable our children to learn a life skill. You should be promoting this not trying to make it more difficult. Again your not making decisions for the better. Let's see who stands up for us as voters!!!!

Please keep private swimming lessons going at Downpatrick leisure centre. It is so important for our children to learn to swim

It's a disgrace ! Penalising children who are enjoying being active,building confidence & making new friends. Not to mention these lessons provide jobs and business for local people. Keep the lessons.

taught my daughter to swim, she was previously terrified of the water, but these swimming instructors gave support and confidence - now she can finally enjoy the water
