This decision should be decided by a panel of: Doc. Rowe, Mr Wilkinson, Mr Furlong-Brown, Mr Davies (history), Mr Thompson, and Mr Bagnold.

This really is a daft move, serving no purpose at all. It's as if whoever proposed this is a coward that's scared of being different. There is nothing wrong with this difference, much like the many differences LRGS has to most schools. These differences are what makes LRGS so special, and such a great experience. What's needed here is a Right Fine Bloke (RFB) to go and cane those who proposed this notion. I remember the LRGS that didn't meet the requirements of a secondary school - no food tech etc. - and while some changes, such as the inclusion of food tech being taught at LRGS, have been improvements, this notion will certainly not be one of them. LRGS is unique, and needs to continue to play by it's own rules (to some extent), to conserve it's originality, and maintain the system where boys can thrive in all aspects of their lives. While this change probably wouldn't affect the standard of education or the experience of LRGS, it is a step away from it's identity, a step towards being a bland secondary school with no heart, if you will. Playing this sort of game is not how LRGS got to where it is today, and is the start of a stray path leading to changes that will be as bad as this, but more meaningful, and have a genuine negative impact of the school. I urge those in charge of this decision to make the right call: don't make the change, it's not what the school needs, it's not what the boys need. Besides these points, there's also the issue of pissing off a load of OLs, which most certainly won't be a good thing for the school.
