Tearing down and/or removing historical monuments is not going to erase what has already occurred. Everyone knows the saying "history often repeats itself". These monuments remind us each and every day what our ancestors accomplished and the struggles we went through as a growing nation. Some of the events were great, others are now frowned upon. By seeing these monuments each and every day, we remember both the highs, as well as lows our nation went through. These monuments serve as inspirations and reminders to continue to grow as ONE through the good and the bad.
