I wrote Governor Abbott and Lt. Governor Patrick 2 weeks ago about this. We simply cannot become like Louisiana and North Carolina! Maybe they don't care about their history, but we as Texans do! These antifa bullies cannot be allowed to get away with destroying our history!

It's time for our electic offidials to stand up and protect our Texas history and her monuments. I would ask you to keep in mind that monuments on city or county property are not on provitly owned land, these lands are owned by the people of Texas.

I'm a 4th generation Texan and never thought I would see the day where the monuments of our state would be under fire. Texas is unique from the other 49 states. We have fought for our independence more than once and have always come out on top. It was under the lead of the men we honor in bronze to remind us of that fact. Texans are a proud people for that reason. We are farmers, we work in the cities, we come in all shades and all backgrounds, from blue collar to white collar yet we remain connected by the fact that we are Texans. If they get success in removing one monument they won't stop there. I sure don't see them complaining about the Lenin statue in Portland that was gifted to the US in the 80's after the fall of the Soviet Union. That statue at 16 feet tall stands in a public park and is the opposite of what this nation stands for.
Texas is unique in our pride, values and our history.
What in the world would we do if they start condemning the Alamo to be removed? We would not allow it! But it's possible with these groups who's goal is to erase all history. Our history MUST be protected at ALL COSTS! Please do the right thing for our state and protect our monuments. They aren't just monuments, they are visual reminders of who stood on the front lines protecting our great state.
