I'm a Native Texan and was taught Texas history in elementary school (Pat Neff Elementary - Houston). Sam Houston was portrayed as a hero. His memory should not be forgotten.

These statues have nothing to do with slavery..these are historial statues that represent a man at his time of greatness for the state of Texas.

Please do what is right and pass this bill to protect our state's history/ monuments. Our country is under siege from those that want to delete our history as we know it. That is unacceptable!
