We tried unsuccessfully ~15 years ago to limit their production/emissions. I am very happy you are doing this now.

Emissions are a threat to our health and the health of our children and grandchildren.

The health of our children, particularly those who attend Samuel Tucker or enjoy its adjacent athletic fields, and their families, deserve better than what Virginia Paving is offering.

Stop pollution of our beautiful city asap! The plant had enough time to make proper arrangements and honor its commitment to social sustainability of their business, City council is obliged to deny the VAP petition

Air quality concerns due to heavy harmfull non stop dust flow in the direction of Comcast Station area and especially elementary S Tucker school. The plant should be closed as prescribed by SUP not later than Jan 1 2027

A safe, healthy environment should be an accepted right.

Reasons: environmental, stinks, toxins, noise, traffic. Time for them to move out of the West End.

I got cancer 2 years after living here. Is it related to the toxic chemicals released by the paving company??

I strongly urge the City to enforce Provision #75 of the SUP, requiring Virginia Paving to cease all operations at this location no later than January 1, 2027. Our community deserves that this SUP is upheld and that this poorly managed company cannot continue to place an undue environmental and health burden to Alexandria’s West End community. The City must follow through with their commitment to put Alexandria residents first.

Virginia Paving knew the terms of the SUP years ago, and it was put in place by the City of Alexandria to facilitate a fair transition as the neighborhood changes to serve new needs. An 11th hour request to keep operating as usual - which includes many negative impacts to the community - is evidence of deeply unserious management that the City should not tolerate.

Lots of noise and not safe for our community.
