The drive in to Rawtenstall is quite industrial looking already without any more new build.A nice hotel with spa would be better.

I use the path regularly down ground work it’s easier for me as I’ve had a stroke and it’s flat unlike the rest of the valley and it’s nice to walk my dog

This area has a huge amenity and wildlife value to the community and should be preserved as it is.

We have enough industrial land here we don’t need any more

I strongly oppose this. It will greatly affect our well-being not having this land for exercise and social recreation as neighbours of the land.

The valley will look like a New Town before very long, devoid of all character and bereft of any wildlife and trees! Go and find some brownfield sites to develop!

Building houses or a commercial premises on this land would not just be unfair to locals who regularly use the area but it would also idiotic - it is right next to the river which floods quite regularly, it would mean either having the new houses be at risk of flooding or putting up flood defences that would make flooding worse further along the river. I'm sure the development companies and Rossendale council (who seem to be a single entity these days) couldn't care less about this providing they all get their 50 pieces of silver!

We have lots of wildlife in this area, and beautiful countryside. That needs to be protected

Leave our green spaces alone. The traffic in Rossendale is already horrendous!

A development here would be a disaster for the local wildlife, impact the river, cause flooding and be very unwelcome. We need to preserve all our green spaces.

this will destroy lots of wildlife homes and the beautiful countryside - please reconsider.
