I’m strongly opposed to the loss of this important local green space, which is already being encroached upon by development on the opposite bank of the river.

Please preserve this valuable green space for wildlife and the people of Rossendale. There are more suitable places to utilise than in this beautiful river valley.

Please don’t take this area away from us. It’s the only green we have in Rawtenstall! So much wildlife n just a truly beautiful place for all to enjoy.

It would be such a shame to see this regularly used, lovely walking route become another built up area. The field is used by hundreds of dog walkers and Rossendale is known for groundworks as an attraction, which should not be tarnished. There is more land by the motorways (in the area that has already been built on for the retail park) which could be utilised for this, rather than ruining a scenic area which is so widely used and enjoyed.

This development cannot happen ... there are Deer, foxes, kingfishers and many other types of wildlife.... this would be a travesty

It has been a dog walking path of over 30 years, and I gave been walking there for 29 years. There is no access for wagons and supplies and the devastation would be detrimental to to valley.

deleteIn 1993 I had to move from my house in Salford and I chose to come and live in Rawtenstall and to this estate because of the lovely countryside that was in the immediate area. We had a four year old son and a dog at time and many, many hours were spent happily walking by the river with them and with my two other sons and their children. I now have another grandchild born only three days ago, they also chose to live in Rawtenstall, and we have talked about enjoying the same walks with them. I am astounded that this area is not already protected and sincerely hope that it will be soon.
