I believe the Alternative Subdivision provision subverts legal rezoning requirements and the due process of citizens adversely affected by neighboring development!

Ellen, thank you for joining the fight against the destruction of rural areas in SRC. Unfortunately, until we change County Commissioners, this will continue as they all have been heavily supported financially by the very people that benefit from overdevelopment. We have had opportunities to defeat them before, but we have to work together next time.

The SRC Commissioners work for the developers, not the citizens. This is just the latest evidence.

The board literally never takes into account what the taxpayers, and the people who, for some reason, elected them, want, but I am signing this in the tiny hope that it'll make a difference.

The commissioners and the developers seem to be on the same page. This is not only happening in Santa Rosa county, it’s happening all over our state.
We elect our commissioners thinking they are there to help us but once they are in office something happens to them. It doesn’t seem to help when we vote them out, the next person drinks the cool aid and it starts all over again.

From Thomas Wichers:
Cookie cutter, high density developments add nothing to surrounding area but higher traffic, more flooding and general crowding. It does take away from the rural feel and destroys agricultural land. This abuse Alternative Subdivision provision must stop.

This special interest provision should be repealed immediately. We're not against development, but the rural characteristics of the county should be preserved.

People who have bought property and homes in residential neighborhoods have chosen not to live in the overcrowded conditions of densely populated cities.. It is unconscionable to change the zoning without consideration for chosen quality of life.
