Sadly, Tacoma looks and feels more and more like skid row everyday. Wake up and focus on the fundamental purpose of government, protecting the right to freedom from crime. Without that basic right, you have nothing. As a citizen, we should be protected from crime, harassment and vile conditions that continue to spiral out of control. What's happening isn't good for anyone, neither the productive members of our society, nor those struggling on the streets. Additionally and sadly, the surge in crime is disproportionately focused on our poorest neighborhoods that you proport to protect; pathetic. Our community is being destroyed, WAKE UP!

I'm so sad to see how Tacoma has changed over the last couple of years. I want to support the Tacoma Police for safe and effective changes to our force.

Tacoma has changed. Graffiti marks our streets and overpasses. Trash piled up in bushes, sidewalks, and homeless camps. The homeless population has increased exponentially. Property crimes too numerous to count; residents don't even bother to call the police. Murder is up, way up. THANK YOU, MAYOR. I know you are too busy vomiting propaganda about our police force.

My daughter was nearly assulted today on 35th and A street. Some one tried to jump in the back seat of her car while she was turning the corner. My nieces take a school bus where I see drug deals done daily. I was nearly hit by a car on Ruston Way by a drunk teenager driving recklessesly. I heard him say "I'm drunk" as I watched him jump in his car and speed out of the parking lot. His car did a 180 and almost hit me on the side walk. He left the scene laughing with his buddies. NO POLICE. NO SAFE STREETS!

Our City is being taken over by lawlessness and lack of repercussions. We are not Seattle and do NOT want our community to follow in their failed footsteps. Actions have consequences, and we need those in power to enforce that for ALL it’s citizens.

It is time to help this beautiful city reclaim its character and charm for all of the citizens. Allowing violence, crime and homeless to continue is NOT supporting the citizens. Think bigger than we are. Support homeless with structure and consequences. Accept our city provided services or else move along. Not allowed to live on the streets and trash our neighborhoods. Shootings, thefts and pure disrespect for laws and others is on the rise. Time to act Tacoma.

I support our law enforcement officers but we have to help them do their jobs by removing barriers to serving and protecting citizens - our Mayor and City Council must work to make this happen.

I am gravely concerned by the nefarious activities I've observed occurring in my neighborhood over the last three years. Neighborhood safety is under threat by only a few individuals and their associates. For us, these problems are not caused by homelessness but presumed drug activity with a network that extends deep and far. I totally support this appeal for more policing, security, faster response times and a genuine effort to weed out illegal and dangerous activity in our neighborhoods.

Every concern listed above needs to be addressed! I have just been a victim of stolen car parts & it took almost 25 minutes to get a call back from 911! The criminals were gone but there was a camera that filmed the crime & nothing toward getting the footage until Friday after it took place on Wednesday! This took place at 1:30 pm in an open parking lot downtown Tacoma at a business! I haven’t seen a police car around this business this year! We need the police presence downtown Tacoma and all positions filled!

My family owns businesses in Tacoma and my husband is in law enforcement. I am begging Tacoma City Council and the Mayor to provide the resources for EVERYONE to feel safe and be protected in Tacoma.
