The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members

Oh poor you, these people who are failing due to a broken society we’ve all allowed are hurting you? You’re the victim?? What a selfish human you are. Where is this utopia you’re moving to? "The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members."

Under Trump? What are you smoking? What have you done to help anything or anyone? Or don’t you love Jesus, because Jesus would help people, and trump is a fake idol unless you’re blind as a bat

We need to support law enforcement and hold people accountable for threatening the health and safety of our community. We need more police officers. We need public officials to publicly support good and just policing. We need community leaders to control the narrative using the principle of accountability to support prosperity. Clean up our streets. Provide resources to the drug addicted and mentally ill. Do not sacrifice public spaces to accommodate and enable drug addicts and the mentally ill.

As a fourth generation Tacoman I am saddened to say that it is becoming increasingly likely that I will not stay here for the long term unless things start to change. A quick google search of "Tacoma" today and you will see headlines including a quadruple homicide, a drive by shooting, and a jewelry store robbery (in which the cops saw the suspects but couldn't pursue under the new police "reform"). These are not anecdotal stories, rather increasingly the norm. Crime is up across the board while enforcement of the law is found wanting. The time for beating around the bush is over, we have to call it for what it is. These radical far left policies and ideologies are harming our city. Furthermore, we cannot afford to lose officers during a crime surge and staffing shortage due to a vaccine mandate. It is time to put politics aside and do what is best for the citizens of Tacoma and use common sense. Vote!

We need more police and we need to defend them not defund them. I'm 75 and now have a CPL. I now carry a concealed handgun everywhere I legally can. Tacoma has been my home since 1950. I'm thinking of selling my home and moving.

It’s extremely important to support the police and work to keep our city and businesses safe. Any city council members who fail to do so should seriously consider their level of care for Tacoma residents, and also realize that their actions now will be reflected in future votes.

Agree completely. People are tired of being victimized. The City Council members who voted to defund the police need to be targeted for removal from office and our criminal justice system needs to grow a spine from the judges to the prosecutor's office!!

Decreased protection increases risk, as well as associated costs. Barriers to full employment in our police, and fire, departments are affronts to safety, which also drive up insurance, and reclamation costs, as the damage from crime, and the costs associated with it, increases around us due to current impediments to fully staffing these critically important agencies, essential to a safe and civilized community.

Being afraid to go grocery shopping, to decorate my yard, to go on vacation, to park anywhere in Tacoma is a real problem. One of my relatives and the entire relocated to another state because of the lawlessness here in WA, especially here in our own hometown. When do law-abiding citizens get the support we need? Clearly, the anti-police actions are NOT working. What's the problem with being a real leader?
