Conventional farming is destroying our topsoil and real organic farming (not hydroponics) is what can save it!

It,s high time the USDA get back to the original standards and laws protecting true organic growing. Making up the rules as you go along is a sellout to big AG including the hydro lobby , CAFO,s dairy and any other area in organic that is being hijacked by corporate dollars and greed, keep it up and you will ruin organics, when people find out about hydro growing being organic with. No soil and the other dairy violation ms of the law they will turn away and spend their money else where. It,s time that corporate interests stop buying the USDA and dictating diluted organic polices to feed their greed.

It is not your job to "define" organic. Organic is not hydroponic, that's a fact. Your job is to protect organic food so we the consumers are not being fleeced with higher prices for that which is not organic and poisoned to boot. Please do your job and protect organic food.

At best hydroponic food does not have the same level of nutrition and flavor of plants grown in soil. Thin film technologies are not soil and should not be considered organic.

When I see the USDA organic label or see that five digit number on produce that begins with a '9', I expect it to be truly organically grown according to the original law set down by the OFPA. DO NOT CHEAT THE PUBLIC! It is your duty to make sure those standards are adhered to, so DO YOUR JOB!

I buy Organic even on my limited budget to remain healthy as I prefer to put good food WITHOUT PESTICIDES into my 82 year old body rather than prescription drugs.

Certified Organic should be held to a high standard. "Organic" is a fad to "big ag" producers who seek to weaken organic standards for short-term gains. The USDA should not allow efforts to expand organic markets when those efforts simultaneously weaken organic standards. Soil health and animal health are fundamental principles in organic agriculture. Hydroponics and CAFOs should not be tolerated as "organic" systems.

Hydroponically grown vegetables and fruits can be very good; sometimes they can be grown without any pesticides. But they are not organic, as they do not grow in soil. There should be some other certification for them.

FARM THE SOIL ORGANICALLY! NOT THE CONTAINER -HYROPONICALLY! THE USDA IS REALLY DAMAGING OUR TRUST IN THE SEAL BY ALLOWING HYDORPONIC PRODUCE TO BE CALLED ORGANIC! Eventually when that trust is so severely damaged, a new seal will need to implemented by independent growers and/or consumers outside of the USDA!

Hydroponic is not organic. The certifying bodies need to maintain the integrity of organics as soil-grown.
