Protect Organic- Prohibit Hydroponics

The USDA must protect the people and follow all the rules set forth in the Organic Food Production Act. You must not support or certify any hydroponically grown produce as Organic. The USDA's job is to protect the consumer period.

Keep it real. Farmers should make the air, water, and soil cleaner with the way they farm.

Making rules for large corporation making it easy to produce cheaper organic food is not the intended purpose of USDA organic. The market is flooded with imitation organic food because of USDA loyalty to big Ag, big pharma, GMOs, and cheap, horrible commercial food.

Food grown in soil is more nutritious than food grown hydroponically as soil contains essential minerals and microbes.

There are billions of micro organisms in one handful of organic soil and it has taken millions of years to evolve which creates the nutrients in our food, this is nature at work and there is no substitute. only greed.

Healthy soil is mandatory for growing organic fruits & vegetables. Food that is hydroponically grown should not be certified as organic, period.

Stop certifying hydroponically grown crops as organic!!!

If it says "organic" it should be. I'm of the continual lowering of standards.

I am an organic farmer. Hydroponics cannot be organic because you cannot be organic without good soil. Period.

I won't buy hydroponically grown food, and don't want certified organic food to include hydroponically grown food.

Please keep the soil in organic! Soil is the living foundation of all life on this planet and we desperately need an agricultural system that values it as such. Allowing fauxganic, hydroponic produce to bear the USDA label goes against the very foundation of organic agriculture and it's driving true soil-based organic farmers out of business and duping customers, while also doing irreparable damage to the integrity of the label for those of us who are paying attention. With our climate in serious crisis, we desperately need more farmers who are willing to prioritize soil health, as our soil microbiome performs critical functions central to the wellbeing of our planet: preventing erosion, conserving water, breaking down environmental pollutants, and storing atmospheric carbon. For the sake of the future of life on our planet, we desperately need the USDA to protect and support the farmers who are committed to caring for the soil!

I want to buy HUMANE and ORGANIC products.

Chickens deserve a healthy and happy life before providing us food. Healthy eggs taste better, are more nutritious too. Anyone who raises farm animals knows this to be true. Factory farms are inhumane and criminally abusive.

It's DISGUSTING that huge corporations are more interested in MONEY, than the health of people, or even the chickens.

Organic has to include soil. Stop diluting the standard.

True farmer's respect the soil and only add natural components which enhance and sustain it's viability. Extending natural methods of Mother Natures model is by far the enrichment needed for future generations.
