Organic is ONLY pure water, pure soil- no unnatural or toxic additives. I know that food growers understand this. Nothing left to say or argue about.

Organics is about building soil. Thousands of people have worked for decades to make "Organic" mean something. Why is the USDA destroying that?

Hydroponically grown food can never be called USDA Organic or labeled as such. To do so violates the laws already in place for organic certification! Violation of their own law by members our own USDA says something bordering on criminality and legal action!

I will not buy hydroponically grown food--it is not grown in soil. The infusion of minerals and trace elements from the soil cannot be duplicated by hydroponic growing methods.

Organically grown crops are, by definition, grown in soil - rich, living soil. Remove organic certification from hydroponic crops, which are not nutrient-rich organisms nurtured by living soil.

Hydroponics do nothing to improve our soil, use a vast quantity not only of water but of fertilizers and often toxic pesticides (glyphosate, for one). Hydroponically-grown foods cannot be considered organic under the current law; they should certainly be labelled “hydroponically grown”.
