Turtles need to be protected along that stretch of road and fencing would extremely help these species at risk

As a wildlife rehabber I have seen countless turtles come into SPWC after being hit-by-car at that location. It is a death trap for turtles.

If this city is truly committed to environmental actions then protection for these species at risk is imperative. Like Mabyn says: WE CAN DO BETTER.

Highway 2 protection for the wildlife in the provincially significant wetland there is long overdue. Get it done!

As representative for Turtles Kingston, I cannot overemphasize the absolute importance of mitigating the Westbrook Wetland. It is long overdue. Turtles are on the toad to their extinction. They are our freshwater cleaners and as a keystone species are an essential rung in the ladder of biodiversity. The installation of exclusion fencing is the ONLY initiative that will reduce the road mortality at the Westbrook Wetland, Kingston’s number one ‘hotspot’. WE CAN DO BETTER !
