There is absolutely no need to do this. Doctors are already aware of their need to be so careful in what they say... but what about freedom of speech and conscience??? What kind of country are we becoming?

Everyone, doctors included, should have the freedom to hold and express their own opinions. I for one do not want cookie cutter doctors too cowed to express their opinion- I want them to be able to think independently and speak freely.

These proposals allow "families to determine what is appropriate “culturally”"? Yet it is only recently that a medical battle was waged AGAINST the cultural tradition of genital mutilation and female circumcision of young girls in many Third World countries!!! Now will this procedure be available "on demand" against the best medical advice? These proposals are totally inappropriate and undermine freedom of conscience, best medical practice, and duty of care.

The patient and family come to the doctor for expert knowledge and to discuss all relevant information.

The current ‘political correctness’ should have no place in decisions for the best treatment available to patients. Their doctor is in the best position to make these decisions based on scientific knowledge and experience. Patients should be allowed to make informed decisions, and this can only be done if the have been presented with the range of options, not just the politically correct options.

We must show leadership in being ok with everyone having their own views and beliefs. People fear criticism and rejection. That's why they try to use laws to protect themselves. People who are different from what laws say, have to be embraced by us,, it's a culture change we need to develop.

Doctors should still be given the freedom of opinion in moral issues they do NOT agree with, eg Abortion and Transgender hormone treatment. We are being controlled by outer authorities to comply with ‘one thinking fits all’ our freedom is being eaten away at more and more ... respectfully said ‘for a minority’

I would like to continue to believe that my Doctor has MY best interest at the heart of any decisions made regarding my health and wellbeing. I believe in my Doctors ability, based on their years of training and expertise, to know what is best for my health, not a board, which seems to want to bend to the wishes of what is "socially" correct
