Protect “Good Medical Practice” in Australia: safeguard the Medical Board Code of Conduct.

Please let Doctors have a say in their treatment of patients concerning cultural practices and best medical practices

We need to protect pro-life doctors.

Only Doctors should be able to decide if any procedure requested by a patient or their guardian is in their best interest. DON'T ALLOW THE MEDICAL BOARD TO CHANGE ANYTHING !!

This new proposed change is pandering to political correctness and longer-term, will impede good clinical care, potentially increase adverse outcomes (e.g. surgical/medical complications) and increase demoralisation amongst the medical profession and increased practice of defensive medicine (rather than good clinical care).

The proposed changes are not consistent with well established medical practice using educated clinical judgement.

Political correctness gone mad. What is wrong with the medical board to bow to such p c pressure?

I would not like to see doctors get hamstrung by this legislation.

Doctors should have the right not to offend their conscience concerning right medical practice. Please do not change the Code of Conduct for doctors.

As a retired dentist I find it unbelievable that a professional board would direct members to provide treatment on the basis of what patients demand. Medical care should be informed by best practice and nothing else.

Please don't make doctors puppets of political correctness.

Doctors are trusted for their quick and capable mental abilities to make a sound judgement and conduct proper procedures inline with that judgement. All that is in jeopardy.

Medical people have spent many years in training to be excellent doctors. They should not be forced to comply with laws that are against their conscience.

All Australians should have the right to speak and act iaw their conscience. Doctors, in particular , must be afforded the protection of behaving iaw their oath of ‘do no harm’. It’s as simple as that. Will the PC white collars in ivory towers please pull their heads in? You are wasting time and money proceeding the way indicated by your draft code.

Please leave our Doctors to perform the duties they were designed and meant to do, Firstly with out the meddling of people who are only concerned about there own thoughts and not the whole good of a community. Secondly don't hide behind the guise of the elderly or the young, saying they cant defend themselves. They should have reasonable and responsible people who care for their well being, This is the responsibility of every family member in charge of people who can't defend themselves cognitively, and if they are mistreated then the full strength of the law will need to applied. Doctors should provide care to preserve the sanctity of life at all times without fear of retribution for their actions.

The Hippocratic Oath that has been handed out for years of Medical graduates is wrong. The Oath in the library below the vestibule where a false copy of the Oath has been displayed, but the correct version is in the Encyclopedia Britannica in the medical library below. In any event, doctors should be professional enough to know what to advise the patient about, and their training should be free of the influence of the irregularities so commonplace on social media.

Doctors are first and foremost human beings with freedom of conscience and freedom of speech. They should not be be made to comply with politically correct views in order to work and serve the community.

This will surely only become another tool for coercive action by the cultural elites.

Let’s not shift the medical world into one of political correctness.

Please do not change the code of conduct for doctors.

Please protect our doctors from having to compromise their medical standards just to remain politically correct. We need doctors to tell us the true facts within their code of conduct
