Everyone should have freedom to his beliefs

Patients can always get another opinion.

Doctors should be able to exercise freedom of conscience

Doctors should have the freedom to make decisions in line with their conscience and not be constrained by a vocal minority who push their own agendas.

Doctors (as do every individual in a democrocy) need to be permitted to have a personal opinion. It is their right.

Doctors save lives and should be allowed to continue to follow the ethical principles of the Hippocratic Oath. They do not need the constraints of the changes proposed to the Medical Board of Australia's existing Code of Conduct.

This is an incredibly worrying retrogressive step.

I feel this is an insult to our medical practitioners, they have undergone years of training, years of prac and then years of working in the field, and then now you want to take away their freedom of speech, not allowing them to assess for themselves what is best? This to me is just another example of the madness that is taking over our country!

Please protect our doctor's freedoms.

I would trust the medical profession less with these proposed changes. They seem to gag a doctor's genuine assessment of patients and patient care.

Please may we retain freedom of speech and the right to make ethical choices according to our conscience without the fear of prosecution

Dear AHPRA, I find the proposed changes to the medical board code of conduct ridiculous and offensive. The proposed changes seek to limit free speech and the right to any opinion which doesn't fall in line with that of your own. What's next, only blonde haired, blue eyed, white Drs of good Aryian descent? All health employees should be entitled to freedom of beliefs, religious, sexual and political, without fear of persecution from politically correctness gone overboard.

I strongly support this petition. The proposed changes are not consistent with "good medical practice" and pose a significant danger to the patient as well as the medical practitioner.

This proposal is ridiculous! It's like me telling an engineer how to build a bridge or a building.

These changes will have an impact on the freedom of speech and freedom of expression of doctors. The logic expressed in the draft proposal in flawed....the only way The Medical Board, by policy, should not have the right to over -rule good medical care.

The proposed changes are not in the community's best interest and will undermine trust in the profession. As stated, the proposed changes threaten doctors' ability to exercise independent clinical judgement and freedom of conscience. These are vital to strong community standing and patient trust.
