Protect Ghana’s Climate Funds – Say No to Misuse!

The Ghanaian parliament's recent proposal to use revenue from carbon credits to fund members' pension plans demonstrates the legislative body's unwillingness to commit to Ghana's climate issues. Climate change, which poses a threat to food security, peace, and prosperity, should be fought by everyone. It is unfortunate that an institution like Ghana's parliament does not commit to this fight through its actions, which is both a shame and a complete disappointment.

I stand against it, for them using Climatic change to replace MP's tax

I strongly stand against the motion of using Ghana's climate fund in such a manner while there are more critical issues the funds can help curb.

This contravenes the very reasons upon which carbon credits markets were developed in the first place. Pension of MPs should reflect the true performance of the economy which they steer by being it's legislative branch. It's unreasonable to steal from funds allocated to protecting the environment for the future generations for your cozy retirement package.

No no no to selfish use of Carbon/Climate revenue! We don’t have to wait until Politicians fly away with the money we generate for climate sustainability while we remain and suffocate in regrets- that’ll be irrational.

We cannot allow our future to be used for the pleasure of only MPs

In the fight against climate change, we must ensure that every resource is channeled toward impactful climate response strategies. Carbon credit funds should be directed towards climate action, mitigation, and adaptation efforts that benefit our people and country as a whole and not diverted into a pension scheme for a select few, particularly Ghana’s MPs.
