Pets are family members so matter what animal they are and if anyone hurts or kills them they should be held accountable and should have to at least inform the owners

Cats are not just pets they are family and each has their own unique personality, they deserve to be protected just like any other animal, all animals regardless of species is liable to run into a road without thinking especially when scared.

The Law needs to change Now

This change to the law is long overdue. Cats are the most popular pet in the British Isles and are as much a part of peoples’ lives and families as dogs are. They have also been proven to be as intelligent as dogs (although not as easy to train!) and experience all the same feelings of fear, pain, happiness, affection, etc. as we do). They deserve the protection of the law.

An outdated law that needs changing! Cats are well loved pets that are part of the family. This needs to be recognised.

Annimals should have be protected from harm in any decent society.

Cats matter just as much as dogs. Police should be able to prosecute for this crime.

It’s should have been done years ago. To many cats are hit and left to die on our roads some owners never find out what happen to there family member.

Most cats are loved pets. People should be informed if their cat is involved in an accident and drivers should have to report hitting them. However drivers shouldn’t be prosecuted unless they have intentionally injured or killed one. Cats run out into the road often giving the driver no chance to avoid them, they should stop and help if they can and report it.

Hopefully someone in Government will take this seriously

If people can’t have the human decency to report when they’ve run a cat down, then clearly we need some form of legal protection that means people have to, by law, respond to an incident properly.

Pets are a lifeline and should therefore be protected. The thought that people aim Maim then film and animal dying in agony is distressing to me. People like this should not be breathing
