Cats are beloved family pets and should have the same protection and rights as dogs.

There are probably more cat owners than dog owners. It’s madness that they are not recognised in law like canines. Please change the law and make drivers more aware to save lives.

I feel very strongly about this as a cat ran in front of my car just over 3 years ago. He ran off so I tried to find him. A man walking his dog witnessed it and tried to help me find him. I later phoned Strand Vets in Port Erin to see if a cat had been brought in. He had and was waiting to have his leg amputated. I was completely distraught. Vet passed me on owners contact details. i was an emotional mess ringing the owner. It turned out to be the dog owners cat (the one who helped me try to find him). I gave a donation towards his surgery and went to visit him after his surgery.. It totally broke my heart but I am so glad he survived. I'm still very wary driving in case an animal runs in front of the car. I now have a 3 year old cat called Poppy that I am too scared to let out in case something happens to her. I know it wasn't my fault but anyone who runs over a cat should report it and not leave them in the road.

Of course I agree, part of the family for sure.

It's about time, cats are loved no less than dogs, and losing my cat to a car not long ago, the pain is very real

Please make it so people cant just kill animals cat or dog so that the people that hit them with a car gets a heavy fine like they do across we love are animals and I know when I take my dogs out for walks people speed in there cars.please please please

My beautiful, loving, talkative cuddle bundle Theo was hit by a car and killed but two hours ago today. We brought him home from MSPCA just over four months ago. This is the second - and possibly third - such loss in the two years since we moved to the Island.

Cats deserve the same rights as a Dog.

Manx Cat as national animal. How do we not have these laws in place already?

I believe the law should be changed.

All animal laws should be updated because animal cruelty is on the rise

Cats should be given the same respect as dogs, and it should be reportable if you are unlucky enough to hit one
