I am proud to do anything to save the small towns. We need to do all we can to ensure we keep them alive. It's tiring that all the cities now are just a photocopy of every other city in the world. We need to keep our identities and individuality alive.

decisions relating to Ennis, Kilrush and Shannon should be made by the relevant Municipal Council not by the full council, the rates rise is a disaster for Ennis business.

Ridiculous I counted 53 empty premises a few months ago. Some of those have recently been filled, upping rates will have a devastating affect on the town. #idiots

On moving back to Ennis recently I was very disappointed to see so many shops closed and these buildings lying empty in the middle of the main streets.
Ennis town seems to have more Euro shops and mobile phone shops than any other type of business. The town looks shabby and has lost the character that was once there.
Business owners should be given the breaks they need to keep going in this difficult time. Our town needs to be built back up again not shut down altogether.
