Fair play to you Joe for taking on these Councillors, you make common sense and I hope you go far in the future because we need more people like you to stand up for us in the Dáil.

Businesses are struggling to pay the rates as it is. This will be the death of Ennis.

Joe, Well done, is it possible to get these Councillors removed or replaced?? and where is the media in all this, they should be highlighting it and making the Councillors accountable. The Councillors should stand up and state why they voted for to destroy businesses already struggling

It's like something from Waterford Whispers News! I can't make any sense out of this decision. The town is just getting back on its feet again and so called councillors seem intent on stopping it.

This is so short sited and strangles the hopes of Ennis being once again an busy commercial centre. Greed is at the heart of this decision and we the people of the community are resisting and will wait for a more fair rate to be announced. Commercial rates should be reduced to encourage business into the centre.

Well done Joe for taking on this challenge and I have every confidence that you will change this decision, knowing you and it's a lot more like you that is required. I couldn't agree more these Councillors should have no say in a vote this important because they have certainly come across as not living in the real world making a decision like this to damage business es further and there is no way up for us only out

What a disgrace for Local?? Councillors to reject local businesses. What if we all got together and refuse that any business pay their rates and see then what ye would do with ye're council budget

Disgraceful if this happens. End up businesses closing. Get a grip on things

Another crazy and backward ploy by Clare county council to damage the smaller businesses of the Town.

Councillors shame on ye trying to kill our town altogether and there are enough businesses closed as is and jobs lost so it is the opposite ye should be doing for to create jobs and support businesses. After all it is all of us taxpayers that pay ye ye're wages so I hope everyone will think twice before they give people like you a vote again in the future

Clare County Councillors can not think of Ennis Town to do something as hideous as this as it will wipe out the Town and businesses. They should be encouraging new entrepreneurs and above all encourage the businesses that are already here and struggling and well done and best wishes

OMG. What a disgrace businesses are finding it hard to survive as is. There will be a lot more businesses closing & jobs lost.
