some joke we spend nearly 2 million on a covered market at this stage with rate increases and businesses closing there will be no one coming to town anyway .

Tax a business based on its turn over, it's not all to do with Square ft. It's obvious some businesses are going very well, and some not so well. The bigger stores Tesco,Lidl,Aldi, Dunnes. Let them pay. Not the smaller businesses. Everyone pay their share.

The reasons for adjusting the rates now at this vulnerable time need to be better explained to business owners in Ennis and Kilrush.

I believe that whilst some increase may be necessary, the town has not received any gain from this. There should be an amount ring-fenced for the town to spend in promotion and managerial work in order to build and maintain a structure for business to survive long-term. I believe that a healthy capital town will bring a healthy hinterland. The decision needs to be reviewed and looked at in a more strategic manner.

Good on you Mr. Corbett for taking a stance for the SME'S, it's crazy what our Councillors are doing to this town. I hope to God everybody will stop and think twice before casting their votes next time and not to put any of them back in again or shall I say power trip, it's sick the way they and the council think, it's no wonder the town is dying

The "travel" tax completely destroyed tourism in the Mid-west region for a five year period. Then the politicians wonder why unemployment is so high
