Please allow our Doctors to write prescriptions for our pain .....i have Fibromyalgia and Diabetes nerve pain .. we don't abuse our medicines . . We take them as prescribed ....ty !

I, as a chronic pain patient for over 20 years, ask you, in the name of decency, and an intelligent review of the myriad amount of information on the subject, to not group the people, many of them elderly ,as I, in with the very different category of the unfortunates who are addicts. I live with intractable pain 24 hours a day and frankly, I'm worn out. I am also extremely weary of fighting this good fight- to make sure that each individual has the right to live without the agony of pain as a constant in life. Please, let the doctors practice in their field without harassment, and let the chronic pain patients go to them for relief. The government needs to stay out of the doctors, offices and respect the relationship between doctor and patient. I am deserving of compassionate, understanding care and considering what has been done, by the CDC and others in the realm of prescription medications for those who are suffering, to be a travesty. What is needed here is a hard look at the real facts and alot of humanity, regarding this issue. Thank You, C. Carson

I have chronic pain. I get massage, chiropractic, acupuncture in addition to using muscle relaxers, Motrin and pain pills when all other measures haven’t provided enough relief. Even with all that, I am always in pain. I would have to use pot for relief though it probably won’t be enough. Being bedridden and suicidal would be very likely.

I had brain surgery in which, my brain's Thalamus was damaged. I suffer constant, horrible pain. Dr's at Duke University a hospital, one of the best hospitals in the US, put me on pain killers after exhausting many other strategies.
Who is more qualified to make decisions about my health? Some of the best medical Dr's in the country who have examined me, or your bureaucrats?
My life is already hard enough and I will never get better. Please leave me, and others like me, alone. We deserve some peace in our already shortened lives.

Normal pain Patients should not be in the same category. I have to jump through hoops to get the same medication that has enabled me to continue to work and function in tolerable pain level at 6-7 rather than debilitating 8-9. Which I have been taking the same amount for over a decade without issue.

Living with chronic pain myself and was recently sought out to be one to have to do the cycle of physical therapy, Accupunture, chiropractic care,epidural injections, surgery.. cycle after cycle and just live with the pain. I no longer get to be the human I once was when I had pain free days. Fixing this opiod epedemic should not be at the hands of those who truly need it.

Being a chronic pain patient has been an uphill battle. No other treatment has worked for me besides an opioid pain medication. Having severe allergies and an untreatable condition I have been faced with little options. I’ve been through all the alternative remedies and none have worked. My doctor and myself know what is best for my situation as with most pain patients do. Please do not limit our treatment to a one size fits all approach because it will not work. We are not drug addicts and should not be treated as if we are.

I am 73 years old and suffer from chronic pain. I was put through a mandatory opiod withdrawal by Kaiser Permenate. Was that because I am on Medicare/Medicaid ? If so I think that it is horribly unjust. PT was a paper with exercise pictures. I can’t do any of them. Chiropractor care or massage is not covered. I am living in constant pain suffering from Anxiety and Depression.

Gov over reach has caused over 1500 #suicidedue2pain and estimates of 30mil more to suffer under and untreated pain by misleading data and financial gain of select gov representatives as well as partnerships w corporate related entities. How dare you get into my medical records with pdmp and narx scores? These records now are avail to law enforcement with no purpose and other non essential non healthcare bodies. This is over the redline into citizens lives. Why does a persons prescription history in the pdmp and narx include thier veteranarian pet medication in the record? No necessary or justifiable reason. This is a travesty created purely by government intrusion into healthcare of specifically chronic pain patients only for express motive of denying medication they require for quality of life. You can be sure there are members of government suffering chronic pain and are not included in these injustices or intrusion into thier private and personal lives.

Oregon is in serious trouble if they believe a "Forced Taper" off opioid meds is in the "Best Interest" of these patients. Oregon will become one of the States that we will then be seeing on the news as leading the nation in Heroin Overdose & illicit Fentanyl deaths. You cannot force someone who lives with pain daily off of the medications that make their lives tolerable & then expect them to continue to function normally in society & their lives. It will turn many of these patients lives upside down & nobody follows them home to see a day in their life AFTER a forced taper, to see how it effects their family/children etc....it will ensue chaos & with chaos comes desperation. These patients who were Not addicts & were functioning on these meds very well some for many decades once taken away will seek alternatives & many will go to the streets in search of relief once Oregons Medical system fails them. This is unbelievible the pure opioid hysteria we are seeing here in 2018. Its time for people to get a damn grip. This has gone just too far. Opioid meds have always been #1 in treating Chronic pain as they work period. There is Risks with every single FDA approved med on the market today...some with serious risks but we prescribe these medications when the Benefit clearly outweighs the Risk. Lets get back to practicing medicine with compassion. Stop the opioid hysteria. Opioids are one of the Safest options for those with daily chronic pain with the Least amount of side effects. I have seen patients that for 2/3 Decades have functioned excellent while taking daily opioid pain meds with no sign of abberant behavior/use. Who are able to work, take care of kids & families, and enjoy their life. I have also seen some of these very same patients be reduced to being bedridden, whose children suffer the effects as the parent lost functioning, who are now filing with the state for disability..in 2018 I have seen this over & over now as the opioid doses have been drastically

A Doctor & Patient. Chronic pain patients never caused addiction . You want to help addicts do it , but don't take away rxs from decent hardworking people and destroy families. You are making people suffer and to the point of no longer functioning in society left with option of suicide only to stop the pain and the failure of living and thriving in the world . My god you know what your doing ...why what's the motive, what is it you have to gain by destroying millions of people. You want more people out on disability ? Living off the state ? No restrictions if your an addict all services available and free , just to go back out on street shoot heroin . Chronic pain patients with their medication work and prosper ,have quality of life . Why are you destroying it?

Taking away medications that make people able to function in normal daily activities is inhuman and will cause suicide. Being in chronic pain everyday with no relief makes life not worth living and that’s what you will be doing!! This is not going to help Oregon!
