When did it become a crime in America to be disabled due to Chronic life altering pain,? That we are guilty before innocent? When was our trial, before guilty verdict? I had no representation of my innocence of a crime. That taking opiod medicine "as prescribed" is a crime? Being disabled & needing my medicin ( opiod) is a crime?My doctor is now labeled a drug dealer, when they are trained professionals,to help not harm me.Helps me as patient have some quality of life,but also giving me knowledge of how to take medicine correctly. Taking prescribed opiods, we are now less than human,to be abused & kicked when we try hard to keep moving?? To have some sort of life, outside of a nightmare of unending pain. Though the opiods helped me work 3 years longer than doctors thought, I've been disabled for over a decade. I do try to volunteer, keep a small patch of fresh veggies & walk my dog some. Please don't take that away from me to a life inside, in pain unending. Paying out of pocket for massage for years, keeping moving, meditation & group support, all work with the opiods. My insurance was so kind to finally offer some natural things, 12 chiropractic visits this year for a co-pay, it did help. Using those visits up in less than 6 months, I've now added that " out of pocket" exspence,to all I use to help myself. Through the years the injections, nerve burning, electric stimulation, mind knumbing psych meds, presctption strength Ibuprofen type meds that made my stomach bleed,has added to my pain , harming me more even, my neurologist said it had to stop. Please stop this abuse on us, forced tapering, taking away opiod medicine that helps us have some quality of life. Tieing the hands of doctors who know how much it helps, share their knowledge & caring. Do to my disabled hands I can't even finish this. Please stop these actions that will leave us with no quality of life or lead to suicide,maybe buying street drugs. Thank you for reading this. God be with us all.

I think this is a travesty to take away some ones quality of life ! OR a patients right to live as pain free as possible ! In the disguise of making things better ! Or in the patients best interest! And the truly sad thing is it affects ones with the least amount of money ! To access other methods of pain care! I just don’t get it !

I have already voiced my opposition to the forced tapering of Opiods for chronic pain patients in the email I sent to the OHERC. If doctors were doing this on their own it would be illegal. It would be called malpractice or criminal negligence. Maybe the government needs to have an oath to do no harm.

I am 57 I suffer from Behcets disease fibromyalgia RA and Osteoarthritis just walking and getting around is already a struggle add in all the pain and I would be confined to my bed I have an 8 year old daughter and raising her at my age is already Tough Enough it is my medications that help me be productive with her please do not take that away from us ~

I have chronic pain and am terrified of being shut off of my pain medication because someone other than my provider seems to know it all. I have daily pain all day. If you keep grouping us in with addicts you are going to see way more suicides happening. Let our providers do what they are trained to do. I for one did not ask for this daily pain as I am sure others with chronic pain didn’t either—Cathy Price

It would be refreshing if instead of this witchhunt (vilify the physically dependent mentality), that studies &true science back up these heartbreaking actions. People suffering from chronic pain are not addicts & malingerers. They are not what is flawed in this system. The deadly part of the opioid crisis are those obtaining the meds for illicit purposes. The people needing meds for chronic pain are not the abusers. They are not addicts. They need those meds to navigate a near-normal life. They receive no "high" or "buzz" from these meds, only the ability to get through another day with near normalcy.

Been in 8 car accidents, 3 motorcycle wrecks, have fibromyalgia, lupus, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, lost more than 4 inches in height, osteoarthritis in hips and knees. Been on opiates since I was 21 and now I'm 61, been through 5 pain clinics and did all the treatments with no relief. Was told due to complications from the lupus nothing could be done. Have been under a doctors care the whole time, never have abused them just took them as directed. Yes I'm on a pretty high dose but after 40 years and progressively getting worse they have had to increase the doses, but I don't get high it barley makes it tolerable. Now they want to cut me back, might as well prescribe me a hospital bed and wheelchair. I wish to God I didn't have to take them but the alternative is unthinkable!! This problem is real but it needs to be decided on a case by case basis. All these new drugs they have usually end up on the bad drug list in less than a year or two. Wake up politicians, what if it was one if their own family or friends, or even themselves think they would let them suffer!!!

My father lived the last 4 years of his life in extream pain. In January of this year he just gave up . He died on the summer solstice of this year. You will do nothing more here then increase business for all the local heroin dealers.Use your heads here.
